One of the podcasts I listen to did a couple episodes on Elon Musk recently.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
The podcasts go into the history of Elon Musk, his upbringing and career in the tech industry. Giving you a bit of history of how he became who he is today.
Don’t listen if you’re offended by cursing - they curse a fair bit on this series.
The series is good if you enjoy history as he picks a historical (or modern) character, does a ton of research and spends a couple hours going into a lot about their life and what they did. The stories are pretty even handed but are usually about people who are generally awful (hence the title) with a lot of historical facts and commentary from him and his guest of the week .
He’s also doing a series of episodes on the history of policing in the US and how it turned into what we have today if you’re interested.

I haven't listened to any episodes but this is interesting, I'll probably start listening to these while driving to autox this year.

That was a very good episode. I’ve been aware that Hobby Lobby is run by religious fundamentalists for a while so they don’t get any of my money but it goes pretty deep into it here.

They are great car episodes. I used to listen to them while commuting, but since we’re not doing that anymore they get put on when I’m in the garage.
In general I learn a few things and am entertained every episode.

When will NATO drop a JDAM on Hobby Lobby HQ?

I’ll spend a bunch of time in the garage this year as well, I'll utilize your strategy

Good question - probably won't happen though as they're Christian extremists.

If the government won’t stop them with use of force, maybe you can.

I knew almost none of his back story before this. Man his whole upbringing is insane.

I really enjoy it and usually go back a ways in his catalog when looking for something new to listen to as he’s been doing them for a bit.

Wow, a kid from a wealthy family who was immune to responsibility and given a massive safety net was successful in business, despite never really realizing a profit in most of his ventures.

Right?! He earned everything he has and his dad's emerald mine had nothing to do with it...

I’ve been meaning to listen to this podcast. Now that even Oppo is recommending it I’ll have to do it soon! As if the endorphin hit of listening to people make fun of Saint Elon wasn’t enough

Neat. I’ll give that a listen when I work through my paperwork backlog, probably tomorrow.

It is a genuinely good podcast. He does a lot of 19th century guys too which is always enlightening. I especially liked the ones on Henry Morten Stanley.

I tend to listen to the ones set in the past more. Not that there aren’t current bastards, but they seem to hit a little closer so aren’t as... well fun isn’t the right word for discussing genocidal maniacs, but you know what I mean

I agree with you. I definitely get less angry when listening to the older episodes. They laid the groundwork for today’s shit heads but it’s far enough removed from today it is less infuriating...
He did a series on Henry Morten Stanley recently that’s very good.
